Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has issued an invitation for applications for the post of Member IT (MP-1 Scale).
This post is crucial in terms of driving the country's digital transformation and policy development. The post will be initially offered on a three-year contract extendable for two more years on a yearly basis subject to satisfactory evaluation by the Performance Evaluation Committee.
The applicant should possess a PH.D or Master degree in ICT-related disciplines, for example, Computer science, information technology, or Software Engineering from an HEC recognized institution. For the applicant who has a PH.D a minimum of seven years of professional experience including three years of the tenure in senior management.

Master degree holders should have at least nine years of experience with a similar tenure in leadership. Candidates should be able to show experience in digital technologies, strategic project management, and international IT standards, and should also have good stakeholder engagement skills. The age limit for applicants is 62 years.
The selection process would involve a multi-step evaluation process starting with shortlisting by a dedicated committee and then recommendations to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for final approval.
The Member IT will report to the Secretary of IT and Telecom in contributing to policy formulation, cybersecurity strategies, e-governance programs, and export growth initiatives. The role would also include developing cloud adoption frameworks, fostering entrepreneurship, and ensuring privacy and data protection legislation.
