Vivo S20 Series Officially Unveiled with Premium Mid-Range Features

Vivo launched the S20 series smartphones in China, which comprises the vivos S20 and more advanced vivo S20 Pro. The major differences between both these smartphones are their chipset, camera configuration, and battery capacity, thus bringing choices according to user requirements.

Design and Display

The vivo S20 series consists of 6.67-inch Amoled displays, with full HD+ resolution. Both versions come with a 120Hz refresh rate that peaks at an incredible 4500 nits, so the screen is very much visible even in bright conditions. The S20 version comes with a flat display while the S20 Pro model comes with a quad-curved panel that gives it a premium look and feel. Additionally, both phones also come with in-display optical fingerprint scanners that provide another layer of convenience.

Internals and Software

Internally, the vivo S20 is running the very efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. While the S20 Pro launches forward with the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC that has WiFi 7 and 5.5G connectivity in China. Both run OriginOS 5, which is built atop Android 15.

Camera

The S20 packs 50MP main camera also comes with OV50E sensor, optical image stabilization. Alongside it is accompanied with 8MP ultra wide angle lens, also joined with vivo Aura light circular LED flash. S20 Pro is equipped with improved 50MP main shooter that makes use of a different sensor with OIS also an addition of 50MP ultra wide angle shooter and at the same time also available is 3x periscope zoom shooter. For both devices available will be 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus.

Battery and Price

The vivo S20 features a large 6500mAh battery which can charge at up to 80W fast charging. S20 pro features a somewhat smaller 5500mAh battery but with even more superior 90W charging capabilities.

The vivo S20 will be available in four color options: Phoenix Feather Gold Jade Dew White and Pine Smoke Ink. It comes with a starting price for the 8GB/256GB model at around $317 or CNY 2299. Another model that will have an option between Phoenix Feather Gold Purple air, and pine smoke ink colors is the vivo S20 Pro. It's priced starting at around $468 or CNY 3399 for the 12GB/256GB model.

Preorder is now open for both models on the Vivo official website in Chinese. Expect deliveries on an eagerly awaited day, December 12, marking an exciting opportunity for consumers to experience these innovation smartphone.
