Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Battery, Other Features (Rumored)
According to an X post, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series will most likely use silicon-carbon batteries. The post quoted tipster Ice Universe from Weibo. No further information about the lineup or its battery technology was mentioned.
The tipster post quoted one of their older posts on X, which links a report by the Elec suggesting that the battery subsidiary of Samsung was considering producing small batteries in Malaysia using the stacking method. This process is said to increase the energy density of a battery by more than 10 percent.
Silicon-carbon batteries will be greener, pack more energy, and be safer than the lithium-ion cells currently used in all models. Honor released the Magic 5Pro in 2023. It has the world's first silicon-carbon battery.
An earlier report indicates that Samsung was developing a new battery that promised to have dramatically more silicon content incorporated than the state-of-the-art cells. Still, the imminent Galaxy S25 range is expected not to abandon traditional lithium-ion.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup is likely to feature Exynos chips. The base and plus variants may be equipped with in-house Exynos chipsets while the Ultra variant may sport the Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon processor. The Ultra version may receive a display with colour filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology. A previous report suggested that the company may replace the Plus and Ultra monikers of the Galaxy S26 series with Pro and note respectively.
