Since the devuce launched with Android 14 Xiaomi plans to update it to Android 18 which will likely arrive in 2027. This extended software support aligns with Xiaomi recent push to compete with Samsung which has committed to longer update cycles even for mid-range smartphones.

Update Policy for Redmi Note 14 5G

However the Redmi Note 14 5G will receive only two major Android updates and four years of security patches. With android 14 at launch this means it will only be upgraded to Android 16 which is expected to be released in 2026. The reason for this discrepancy between the two models remains unclear especially given that many would expect the 5G version to have similar or even longer support than its 4G counterpart.

Both devices are now available globally at different price points. Xiaomi has priced the Redmi Note 14 4G at approximately $173.87 for the 128GB storage variant with 6G RAM while the 256GB model with 8GB RAM costs around $205.23.
